It was a weekend to remember for Sky Blues duo Jack Burroughs and Jordan Young, as they helped Gloucester City complete a turnaround against Kidderminster Harriers this past weekend.
The pair both started the game, with Burroughs playing the full 90 and Young being replaced late on in injury time, with the game all but won.
After going 2-0 in the opening half hour, Gloucester pulled one back before half-time and then it was the City midfielders who stole the headlines as first Burroughs picked out Matt McClure with a superb ball to find an equaliser.
Then, with 15 minute left on the clock, Young scored his first goal for the club with an expertly taken free-kick which left the ‘keeper helpless and extended Gloucester’s lead at the top of the National League North.
Elsewhere, Gillingham suffered a 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion at Priestfield, in which Declan Drysdale started the game for the Gills in League One.
However, Drysdale was sacrificed at half-time with Steve Evans side pushing for an equaliser, which ultimately never came.
In the Scottish Premier League, St Mirren equalised late on against Motherwell to earn a point, in a game where Brandon Mason didn’t feature having missed the game through injury.
