INTERVIEW: Robins Talks Team News

The Gaffer spoke about Rose, Fadz and Giles...

Manager Mark Robins gave the latest team news ahead of the Sky Blues clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night.

Robins confirmed that Ryan Giles loan spell with the club came to an end after he was recalled by his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers and thanked the player and club for their contribution.

He said: “The news on the transfer front is Ryan Giles was recalled by Wolves.

“My thanks are to Wolves for letting us have him and himself for his contribution while he has been here and they are happy with the loan and how it’s gone and the number of games he has had.

“I have had no control over that, what I have to do is what is right for the football club, we have probably had him for twelve months, we have certainly helped him progress his career.”

Kyle McFadzean faces a one match suspension after he was sent off against Reading and Robins believes not having the defender available for selection will be a blow.

He said: “It is always a blow and he has performed at a really good level for us this year Kyle and last year; so since he has come in, he has been an effective signing and will always be a miss.

“It is only one game and not two games and that is a bonus but it is still a blow when you lose somebody who has been effective.”

He also commented on current players who are working their way back to full fitness and is hoping that he can get everybody back on the training field within the next few weeks.

Michael Rose is not in contention for a return on Wednesday but has made promising progress after training last week.

He said: “They are a week closer to fitness which is a positive and getting closer all the time, hopefully in the next two to three weeks they will all be back.

“So, we need everybody back and fit and as quickly as possibly we can do, that is everybody back on the training ground not fully fit; so it’s whether we use them in games to get them fit because we try to use the training time in between to get them fit and that is going to be the challenge.

“He (Rose) has had two training sessions so he trained Thursday and Friday and needed some time to recover, we want them fit and you can’t push them too soon and he needed a breather this weekend to recover his energy levels and he will train again this week but is still a long way off yet.”
