Viktor Gyokeres admitted it was a frustrating night as the Sky Blues fell to a 3-0 defeat at Reading on Tuesday.
The hosts scored on three separate occasions to secure the win after Kyle McFadzean was sent off in the second half.
The striker was handed his debut and was selected in the starting eleven after he signed for the club on loan from Brighton.
He said: “It was a nice feeling to get my debut and of course we’re disappointed in the result, we wanted more even though we played against a good team and the fact we could do something here.
“We had some good chances in the first half especially I think and were a bit unlucky but that is how it is.
“We lost so it is something you are always not happy with when you lose a game.
“It was a nice to feeling to play and I love to play, I will try to do my best every single minute I play here but hopefully we can get some better results in the future.”
He felt like making the move was a positive one after he spoke to manager Mark Robins and is hopeful on contributing to any success.
He also spoke with Leo Ostigard who is also on loan from Brighton, and he told how Leo spoke highly of City and that playing in this league before will help him to settle in.
He said: “I think it was a good option and I talked to the manager and he said some good stuff about how he wanted to play and how he sees me so it feels good, I think this is a really good team here.
“He said (Ostigard) it is a good club and there are good players here, only positive things to say really.
“I want to play as much as I can and help the team to win games, I know the league well and have seen a lot of games and played in some (whilst on loan at Swansea during first half of campaign.)”
