The ten men of City secured all three points in the Professional Development League after coming from behind to beat Peterborough United.
In the opening minute Fabio Tavares got in behind the Posh defence and cut the ball back for Jonny Ngandu but his effort was deflected into the arms of Will Blackmore, in the visitors net.
Moments later, Peterborough would take the lead when Kai Corbett was played in and fired into the far corner from just outside the box.
Josh Pask was then sent off for bringing down Corbett when he was though on goal and the resulting free-kick was blocked by the wall.
Joe Taylor then nicked the ball off the returning Tom Billson and he passed to Corbett but the striker missed the target from six-yards-out.
Billson then produced a great save to deny Corbett after he had made some space for himself in the box.
Just before the half-time whistle, Josh Eccles collected the ball on the edge of the box but he couldn’t get a shot away when under pressure from three Posh defenders.
HALF TIME: Sky Blues U23s 0-1 Peterborough United U23s
Posh almost doubled their lead early in the half but Idris Kanu could only flash his shot across the face of goal.
But, it was the Sky Blues who would find the next goal in the game when Jodi Jones picked up the ball on the half-way line and drove at the Posh back-line before unleashing a shot into the far corner to equalise.
Jones then went close to replicating his strike three minutes later when he beat his man but his shot went just wide of the post.
The lively Jones then turned provider, after beating his man, and firing a ball across the six yard box which was put into his own net by Emmanuel Fernandez to give the Sky Blues the lead.
The game was briefly halted when the referee had to bring the players off the pitch due to the adverse weather conditions.
But with the game then back under way Fabio Tavares fired just wide after meeting Josh Reid’s cross.
With City pushing for a third, Jones then played in Dinanga but his effort was saved by the ‘keeper.
Tisdale’s side got their third with eight minutes remaining when Dinanga cut back found Eccles on the edge of the box and curled a lovely effort into the top right corner to seal the points.
