Kyle McFadzean previews the trip to Huddersfield….

Kyle McFadzean reflects on a tough spell of games, but notes the Sky Blues are ready for the second half of the season.

Coming to the end of a competitive block of fixtures, the Sky Blues are set to face Huddersfield and Stoke in their next two games.

The defender looked back on the stretch of games, as well as looking ahead to the remainder of the season.

“It’s been a tough period, I think we could’ve located more points, especially at home, but it just didn’t happen, we didn’t get started first half [against West Brom], but hopefully we can put on a good performance Saturday and get a result, we need to start turning draws into wins.

“We said that if we come out these group of fixtures coming out where we are then it would be a good achievement and if we can get four, maybe six points out of these games it looks positive.

“If we can get as near to forty points midway through this season, then we can build on that next year because we tend to do a little better second half of the season.

“We’ve conceded the most goals in the first half out of any team, but conceded the least in the second half, so if we can sort out the first half, we’ll look a bit better points-wise.

“I think we’re confident in every game, but we have to go and analyse every game and look at what we’ve done, but it’s obviously not good enough, to stay where we are and we’re still sitting seventh, four points off third, we need to get a little better and the points total will get a little better.”

After notching his third of the season, McFadzean spoke on his goal against West Brom and the Sky Blues’ fortunes from set-pieces this campaign.

“It’s always nice, I’ve had a winning goal, but last two goals we’ve lost so I’d rather not score, next time I’ll let somebody else score so we get a result.

“We’ve been a bit unlucky with corners, I think they’re coming, we can’t complain about delivery, it’s always been good, it’s just working on movement.”

Moving onto opponents Huddersfield, McFadzean previewed the tie against the Terriers and what lies ahead for the remainder of the season.

“They’re a good team, have done well at home and have got some good players, it’s like most teams in this league, there’s not much between each team.

“We just need to get more clean sheets and winning more games one nil would be nice, we need to get better at that.

“We’ve had a dip in form, winning-wise, but we’re still picking up draws, we’re not losing five in a row.

“As much as we’ve not been playing as good, we’ve still been getting points on the board, we’ve got to pick up more, strengthen in January and we can have a good bash of it next half of the season."
