OFFICIALS: Referee Watch Versus QPR

Dean Whitestone will be the man in the middle…

26 August 2021

The EFL have confirmed Dean Whitestone will be the man in the middle for the Sky Blues’ trip to the capital on Saturday to face Queens Park Rangers.

Mark Robins’ side take on the Hoops at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00pm.

It will be the first time that Whitestone has taken charge of a game involving the Sky Blues since our 3-0 defeat at Reading in January 2021.

This year will mark Dean's 17th season as a referee in the Football League and over that time he has officiated 23 Sky Blues fixtures, including our 1-0 victory over the R's in September 2008.

With Whitestone in the middle, City have a record of:

Wins – 11
Draws – 7
Defeats – 5

So far this season Whitestone has awarded 12 yellow cards and 1 red card in the 4 games he has officiated across the Sky Bet Championship, beginning with the season’s opener between AFC Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.

Whitestone will be assisted by Graham Kane and Philip Dermott whilst Joshua Smith will act as the fourth official.
