Sky Blues attacker, Danny Cashman came off the bench to help Rochdale secure all three points against Northampton.
The striker made his introduction in the 79th minute with score 2-1 to the Dale against the Cobblers at Sixfields Stadium.
Cashman helped to secure that victory when he secured an assist; his first in the EFL, for Abraham Odoh to score the third in the 95th minute.
The win moved Rochdale up into 15th with four points in their opening four fixtures in League Two.
Also in League Two, Tom Billson will be out of action for up to eight weeks, meaning his time at Scunthorpe has been put on hold.
Elsewhere, Will Bapaga will have to wait for his Grimsby Town debut, after the Mariners were forced to postpone their fixture against Bromley due to a number of positive Covid cases.
In Scotland and Jack Burroughs wasn't involved for Ross County, as they suffered a 4-2 defeat at home to the Scottish Champions, Rangers.
