INTERVIEW: Mark Robins Nottingham Forest Reaction

Gaffer gives his thoughts after the final whistle...

8 August 2021

City boss Mark Robins has praised the Sky Blue supporters and believes their contribution helped City across the line.

The Sky Blues came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 2-1, as Viktor Gyokeres and Kyle McFadzean helped complete the turnaround.

The fixture was City’s first competitive match with supporters back in the crowd and back in Coventry and Robins spoke of his delight to welcome them back.

Robins said: “If you ask any supporter, it’s been a really emotional day for everyone.

“Starting off with the tribute to George Curtis, it was brilliantly supported.

“I don’t think there’s a better way to end the day for our supporters. This gets us off to a good start.

"It's brilliant to be back and I’ve got to thank the supporters because they were just magnificent.”

Robins continued by saying he was impressed by the second-half performance and the impact that the substitutions made.

“I liked the second half, I thought that we showed real guts.

“We were really brave, and that was befitting of the support.

“I think the lads that came on made a big difference. Ultimately, we’ve taken the game by the scruff of the neck.”
