In May earlier this year, the Sky Blues Academy welcomed the newest crop of players joining the Under-9s for this upcoming season.
The six new faces were invited to the Coventry Building Society Arena, along with their families, for their unveiling and presentation ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The youngsters learnt more about the academy philosophy and values, as well as enjoying a tour around the CBS Arena, which include the boardroom, dressing rooms and the pitch.
As they prepare to represent Coventry City for the upcoming year, the youngsters were congratulated for their achievements and the hard work they have put in to get to this stage so early on.
There was even a goody bag, football and other small gifts for them to take following the end of an enjoyable evening.
After the event, Academy Manager, Dan Bolas expressed his happiness at welcoming the youngsters to Coventry City.
Bolas said: “We are delighted to welcome the new Under 9 group to our Academy program. It is a fantastic achievement for these young boys to be selected to join the Academy, and over the coming years, we look forward to building relationships with the players and their families in supporting their development both as footballers and young people.
“We have a team of hard working local scouts and spotters who are out watching grassroots football every weekend, and they have helped us identify a group that we feel are really looking forward to working with.”
