Coventry City can confirm that the Ricoh Return Memberships have now sold out!
8000 Memberships were made available, which is 25% of the Ricoh Arena capacity, and they have now all been snapped up by Sky Blues supporters ahead of City’s return to Coventry.
The Sky Blues already have their highest number of Season Tickets since 10 years ago, when they had 8,235 in the 2011-12 campaign. Following the move to the Ricoh Arena, from 2005 to 2011 Season Ticket sales were regularly between 9,500 and 10,000 and the Sky Blues will be hoping for similar numbers once social distancing allows capacity to reach those levels.
While the Prime Minister previously indicated all COVID restrictions would end on 21st June in his roadmap, further conversations with the EFL, following their dialogue with Government, have indicated that this may not be the case and this is in line with current Safety advice. Therefore, the Club have taken a cautious approach to sell initially to this limit.
The Club have been looking at sales of future Memberships beyond this figure, with fans buying in the second phase having less of a priority if restrictions keep to 25%. The Club will provide further information in due course.
Chief Executive Dave Boddy said:
“We are delighted to have sold-out already of our Ricoh Return Memberships.
“It goes to show the excitement and anticipation that our fans have ahead of the return to Coventry and for the 2021/22 season.
“I would like to thank all of the fans that have bought already for their support.
“We know there are more fans who want to buy, but we are having to make plans around what restrictions there could be. Therefore, we hope to make available shortly a ‘Phase 2’ of the Membership, where fans would have less of a priority than those that bought within the 8000, but we would still hope that the Government would allow us to let them in.
“Please continue to check our website for information once this is confirmed.”
While the Membership has reached the 8,000 capacity meaning no more can be currently sold, 18/19 Season Ticket holder seats will continue to be reserved.
