The midfielder was buzzing after the final whistle...

Callum O'Hare believes it was "great character" that proved decisive in Friday night's five-goal thriller after the 3-2 win against QPR.

O'Hare scored in the 3-2 victory which secured the Sky Blues their first three points of the new Championship campaign, after coming from behind to do so.

"It was good to get the first win on the board, it was a big second half performance and we needed it.” O'Hare said.

“We were a bit off it with the defensive shape in the first half and we were trying to press and they were passing it around us, but second half we sussed it out, it worked much better and we had more chances.

"It was great character from the lads, we scored two good goals and one just before half time, it was great and we’re buzzing to get off the mark and hopefully there will be many more to come this season.”

O'Hare believes there is a winning mentality that lies within the squad, which showed itself to be true, with the team adapting to the quality of the Championship.

"Last year we had a winning mentality and it's not going to go overnight.

“We still believe we can win every game in the Championship, in what is a tougher division, but we are a great side, so we need to show that.

“I just focus game by game, and we need to just keep winning and see where we get to but getting the first win is always big and to get it in the second game as well.

"It's a good tempo and it's a bit quicker than League One as well as the players are a little bit better, but we are all adapting and hopefully you could see that second half."
