Andy Ellis has chosen the best Coventry City players he has seen play for his CCFC XI.
Andy is 38 years old and has supported Coventry City with his Dad since the first season of the Premier League.
Both have had a Season Ticket every year since then, other than the full season groundsharing at Sixfields.
Here is Andy’s best side in that time, plus substitutes and Manager.
Goalkeeper - Magnus Hedman
It is close between him and Oggy. However for me his kicking was better and he played at international level so he takes the number 1.
Right Back - Roland Nilsson
Absolutely no contest for me. Brian Borrows was great too but Nilsson was pure class.
Left Back - Phil Babb
Sadly not with us long but a top notch player who quite rightly went on to a big club in Liverpool.
Centre Back - Gary Breen
Not the classiest of defenders but one of the most consistent, calm and reliable.
Centre-Back - Mo Konjic
Absolutely loved the club and gave his all/put his body on the line every game. Cult hero with City fans, came up with the odd goal and loved the chant we had for him.
Centre Midfield - George Boateng
Picked up for a bargain price and a fantastic combative midfielder with an engine that never stopped. Also good going forward and chipped in with a few goals here and there too. Most notably two great strikes against the Villa.
Centre Midfield - Gary McAllister
Just like Roland Nilsson this guy was pure class. His control/reading of the game, passing and creativity was a joy to watch.
Centre Midfield - Michael Doyle
He may not have played premier League football for us. However there's no denying he's one of if not the best servant in my time. Another that loves the club and gave his all every time he set foot on the pitch. He'd be my choice for captain.
Centre Forward - Dion Dublin
There's not much justification needed here really is there. His goals kept us up on more than one season. Also a great option at centre back when required. Quite rightly represented England when with us. As well as finishing joint top Premier League scorer in the 97/98 season. I was amazed none of the top, top clubs came in for him other than an enquiry from Liverpool.
Centre Forward - Robbie Keane
One of the most exciting and skilful players I've seen in a City shirt. Had you on the edge of your seat every time he got the ball. It was no wonder he went on to be the player he did at both club and international level. Lived by me too and was a fantastic humble guy even at the young age he was when with us.
Centre Forward - Peter Ndlovu
It was a tough call here between Nuddy and Huckerby. However when first falling in love with the game and club it was Ndlovu who helped cement that bond. Fast, tricky, edge of your seat player who scored some truly wonderful goals. As well as one of very few to get a hat trick at Anfield.
Subs: Steve Ogrizovic, Brian Borrows, Mustapha Hadji, Darren Huckerby & Gordon Strachan.
Manager: It has to be Mark "Miracle Worker" Robins
