PRESS WATCH: Mark Robins talks about Coronavirus outbreak

18 March 2020

Coventry City Manager Mark Robins has spoken to the press about the effect the Coronavirus outbreak is having on the Sky Blues set-up.

The Sky Blues boss has given the squad some time off to adjust to the current situation, insisting health takes priority over football at this time.

“We have to make sure everyone is healthy because there are more important things than football, that’s for sure,” Robins said when speaking to CoventryLive.

“But we have got to plan the best for when we come out of it. You just have to deal with the hand you’re dealt.

“There’s a plan in place and we’re sticking to that but you just don’t know."

Robins continued:

“We are doing what’s right for us and the fact is that on a daily basis we have to wait for up to date information on everyone’s health.

“We collect information each day and that gets delivered into me and done by a certain point in the day, and then we react to those situations.

“First and foremost the health of everybody is the most important thing.

He added: “We have to bear in mind that we’re due to resume on April 4th and we have to work in between time to maintain fitness, and to do that in this environment is a challenge for everybody.

“The players have got instructions as to what they need to do and we’ll do what we need to do to get ready for the 4th."
