Brandon guided his Sky Blues side to a 5-1 win over Rochdale on Tuesday to book a place in the Second Round. After going behind early on, goals from Zain Westbrooke, Liam Walsh and a brace for Matty Godden helped to put City in the driving seat at half-time, before Amadou Bakayoko came off the bench to wrap things up late on.
He said: “I’m happy to get the win for the boys and the team.
“We started off a bit shaky as we adjusted to the conditions at Court Lane, but once we settled, we started to play our stuff and we’re happy to get the win and book our place into the next round.”
Looking ahead to tonight's challenge, Mason had this to say:
"We will be ready to give it our best and hopefully it results in us progressing again."
