Robbie Fisk is the next supporter choosing his best Coventry City XI.
Robbie was in Coventry and I’ve supported Coventry since he was 5 years old.
Robbie said:
"My Dad took me to my first game at Highfield Road in 2004 against Torquay in the League Cup where we won 4-1 - although I don’t recall having many memories of this game.
"My first memory of a game is the last game at Highfield Road against Derby. I've had a lot of favourite games including both of the 3-2 comeback wins against Peterborough at The Ricoh in 2014 and 2015 and the Checkatrade trophy win in 2017 was special, finally seeing the Sky Blues playing at Wembley.
"But nothing will beat the Playoff Final win in 2018 at Wembley, that is a day I’ll never forget."
Robbie is pictured above with Sky Blues boss Mark Robins, and below at an away game against Peterborough.
Robbie chose to set himself a rule when deciding his team too...
"I've included no loans but was close to including Adam Armstrong, one of my favourite strikers in my time of supporting the Sky Blues - quality for us in his 1 season here. None of the current squad as of yet, but Shipley is one I was close to including."
Now Robbie talks us through his selections...
Manager- Mark Robins
Hands down Mark Robins! Since he’s come back what a job he has done, perhaps saved the club from going into dire straits. He’s been through the the real tough times and he’s come through it all so far, Promotion win from L2 in his first full season back and 2 years on we are on the verge of being promoted back to the Championship whilst playing in Birmingham. Superb!
Goalkeeper - Keiren Westwood
Was torn between Westwood and Murphy but have gone with Westwood, Arguably the best goalie I’ve seen play in my time for us and u could say the best Goalie we’ve had over the past 10-15 years.
Right back - Jack Grimmer
Was a quality player for us in the L2 promotion season, was a influential player to the team.
Centre back - Richard Keogh
Started as a full back but developed into a good centre back in his time here. Solid defender/Leader.
Centre back - Scott Dann
Had him very young, solid defender and developed in his time here. Was key for us in the 2008\2009 season. You could see he was gonna go on and play in the top flight.
Left back - Chris Stokes
Turned out to be a good Left back for us, another player that was good for us in the L2 promotion season.
Centre midfield - Michael Doyle
Absolute Legend/leader. Was quality for us in his first spell but no doubt was a key figure in the L2 promotion season. Hands down my fave Coventry player in my time, love Doyler!
Centre midfield - John Fleck
What a player Flecky Was, just a all round solid Midfielder. Was quality in the 2015/2016 season and he was so influential to that team. Rarely had a bad game either!
Left midfield - Gary McSheffrey
Cov born and bread, cared so much for his club and gave his everything week in week out. What a player!
Right midfield - Carl Baker
Gave his everything for the club in his time here, shame he left In the situation he did!
CAM/NO 10- James Maddison
What a talent, we bought up a absolute Star! Cared and gave his all for us, just class when he had the ball at his feet, could pick any pass and you always knew a chance was coming. Just a quality footballer. Shame he left so soon but great to see what he’s gone on to do and still only young. He’s another one of my all time favourite Coventry players from my time.
ST- Marc McNulty
What a player for us in the L2 season, Take him out of that team and we wouldn’t have gone up that year without his goals, that’s how influential he was. Shame he left that summer.
