NEWS: 2019/20 refunds details and process confirmed

Coventry City have confirmed arrangements so that 2019/20 Season Ticket holders, Premium Membership holders and Executive Box holders, plus Seasonal Car Parking holders, will be able to receive a refund on the final home games of the season.

Five games of the Sky Blues’ title winning campaign were cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The games affected were:

  • Coventry City v Shrewsbury Town
  • Coventry City v Wycombe Wanderers
  • Coventry City v Peterborough United
  • Coventry City v Oxford United
  • Coventry City v Burton Albion

From fan feedback, we know that a significant number of fans do not wish to receive a refund on these games to help the Club through this uncertain time – we are very grateful to those supporters who decide to make this gesture, which will be extremely helpful in the running of the Club and preparations for the Championship season.

We also appreciate that the Coronavirus pandemic has had a significant effect on individuals’ financial situations. Therefore, we are happy to arrange refunds for those fans who wish to receive money back from the Club – 5/23rds of the amount paid for your 2019/20 Season Ticket, Premium Membership, Executive Box or Car Parking Season Ticket. Half Season Ticket holders can receive a refund of 50% of the amount they paid.

For Season Tickets/Premium Memberships/Executive Boxes purchased on finance, we will only be able to process a refund on the purchase price if the finance agreement is fully paid.

Separately, as previously communicated, all Season Ticket and Premium Membership holders will have the option to receive money off for 2020/21 due to the cancellation of the Bury fixture in the 2019/20 season. This will be 1/23rds of the amount paid for your 2019/20 Season Ticket/Premium Membership and there will be the option to have this deducted from your 2020/21 price when you purchase. Details regarding 2020/21 Season Tickets and Premium Memberships will be confirmed soon.

Chief Executive Dave Boddy said:

“Once the EFL confirmed cancellation of fixtures, we knew it was important to be able to offer refunds to our Season Ticket holders who wish to receive a refund on these 5 games. In these difficult times, this is a way that we as a Club can support our fans who support us.

“We have been touched by the number of fans who have contacted us to say that they do not wish to receive a refund and are extremely grateful for that gesture – whether this is to help the Club during this period, or as a ‘thank you’ to Mark Robins and the team for the superb, title-winning football they have played this season.

“In the current circumstances, we have worked to implement a system so that fans can get this money back from the Club if they wish to. Fans should expect the money back to them next month -please bear with us as this is a manual process and will take time to contact fans who request a refund, so we thanks fans in advance for their patience.”

The deadline for fans to request a refund will be Wednesday 5th August – three weeks from today. This will apply for Season Ticket holders, Premium Membership holders and Car Parking Season Ticket holders, and also for Match Ticket refund requests.

Please note that refunds must be requested and will not be automatic.

2019/20 Season Ticket and Half Season Ticket holders who paid by card (whether over the phone, online or in person) and wish to receive money back from the Club are asked to email ticketoffice@ccfc.co.uk with subject line ‘Season Ticket Refund’ and the following details:

  • Supporter Name:
  • Supporter Number:
  • Contact Telephone Number:

The deadline to contact to request a refund is Wednesday 5th August – 21 days from today.

 

REFUND PROCESS – PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP HOLDERS:

2019/20 Premium Membership holders,  who paid by card (whether over the phone, online or in person) and wish to receive money back from the Club are asked to email hospitality@ccfc.co.uk with subject line ‘Premium Membership Refund’ and the following details:

  • Supporter Name:
  • Supporter Number:
  • Contact Telephone Number:

If you are applying for a refund for more than one person, please include separate information for each supporter.

The deadline to contact to request a refund is Wednesday 5th August – 21 days from today.

 

REFUND PROCESS – CAR PARKING SEASON TICKET HOLDERS:

2019/20 Car Parking Season Ticket holders,  who paid by card (whether over the phone, online or in person) and wish to receive money back from the Club are asked to email hospitality@ccfc.co.uk with the subject line ‘Car Parking Refund’ and the following details:

  • Supporter Name:
  • Supporter Number:
  • Contact Telephone Number:

The deadline to contact to request a refund is Wednesday 5th August – 21 days from today.

 

TICKET OFFICE AT BUTTS PARK ARENA:

The Ticket Office at Butts Park Arena currently remains closed. As such the deadline for refunds for fans who purchased using cash will be extended, as it will be for fans who purchased home or away match tickets with cash.

We will let fans know when the Ticket Office will be able to re-open in due course.
