FIRST WORDS: Ryan Giles

The Wolves man linked back up with City on a season-long-loan...

Earlier this week, the Sky Blues completed the loan signing of Ryan Giles from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Giles returned back to City following a loan-spell last season and this time joins Mark Robins side for the duration of the 2020/21 Championship campaign.

Having been part of a league title winning side, Giles told how it was an easy decision to make in coming back to the Sky Blues.

“I’m delighted to be back.” Giles said.

“The manager has shown great belief in me and it was a no brainer to get it over the line, especially with the club going into the Championship, it’s an exciting time to be here.

“It made it easier coming back, because I’m returning to a club I know, and it has a home-like feeling and it definitely made me feel like I wanted to come back.”

After joining on deadline day during the January transfer window earlier this year, Giles would go on to make one appearance off the bench against Rotherham United.

The 20-year-old revealed that one of his aims in returning was to get more minutes under his belt.

“Coming here last season, although I didn’t get as much game time as I wanted, the staff, the players, everyone was brilliant and that was one thing which stuck in my mind and why I wanted to come back.

“I want to learn, and I want to get as many games as I can under my belt and just to show what I can do really and play with confidence and try and prove a point.

“It’s all about development and learning really and I think this will be another development in my career which I can take on board and learn from.”

City will return to action this weekend as Giles and his teammates prepare to face Scottish Premiership side, Rangers at Ibrox.

The fixture will be the first for the Sky Blues since March and City’s latest signing can’t wait to get back to it.

“It’s been a long time coming obviously so I think all the boys will be raring to go and you can see that in training in the competitive levels and every game we play now it will be brilliant.”
