The Sky Blues latest summer recruit, Marcel Hilßner spoke of how his move to City is a dream come true.

The 25-year-old makes the move to England from SC Paderborn in Germany and his arrival to the country is one he revealed he has dreamt about since he was a child.

“It’s special to play in England and for me it’s a dream come true to move here and play in England.

“As a little kid I looked to English football and watched the Premier League and I always wanted to play here and now it’s a dream come true.

“I followed the club last season and until it was possible to move here and now for me it’s great the team is in the Championship and I’m happy to be here.”

Hilßner becomes the fourth arrival since the Sky Blues won the League One title and promotion back into the Championship.

Upon agree a three-year-deal with Mark Robins’ side, Marcel spoke of what the supporters can expect from him in the upcoming season.

“It feels great to be here.” He said.

“I’ve spoken with the club for a very long time and I’m very proud to be here now everything is finally done.

“I’m a powerful footballer and I bring a lot of power and I think my left foot is very special when it comes to shooting or playing crosses for my team mates and I hope I can help the team.

“The last few years I have played on the wing but in the past when I was in youth football I played down the middle, in the centre as a ten or eight.”

Now, as the former German youth international settles down in England, he has one eye on linking up with his new team mates.

“I think I can start training Friday.

“I did a coronavirus test on Monday and I hope it comes back negative and then I can start training with the team on Friday.”
