Max Biamou scored the only goal of the game as the Sky Blues Under-23s secured all three points against Cardiff City in the Professional Development League.
The Sky Blues almost opened the scoring when Joe Newton intercepted the ball on the edge of the Cardiff area and picked out Max Biamou, but he was unable to find the back of the net.
Minutes later and the hosts had their first real opportunity when striker Tom Sang looked to drill an effort in from range, but his shot went past Ben Wilson’s post.
City continued to apply the pressure when they once again intercepted Cardiff possession in their own half and this time it was Jack Burroughs who had a shot from range, but his shot was saved by Joe Day in the Cardiff goal.
The two sides battled for possession and a chance came for the Bluebirds down the left-hand-side through full-back Joel Bagan but he could only find the side netting.
At the other end, it was Biamou who was denied from opening the scoring with a header which was cleared off of the line as City.

After the break, it took just three minutes for the Sky Blues to create their first chance of the half and it fell to Gervane Kastaneer, as he took the ball around the ‘keeper but then from a tight angle he couldn’t direct the ball towards goal.
The Sky Blues had the woodwork to thank for being level after 64 minutes after Tom Sang curled a shot from outside of the box, only for it to come back off the post.
With chances few and far between in the second half, the Sky Blues finally took the lead and it was Max Biamou who headed home a Jodi Jones cross to put City in front.
The hosts tried to fight their way back into the game and almost found a leveller through Mark Harris, but his effort once again, came back off the post.
City tried to put the game out of Cardiff’s reach when Jodi Jones burst through and tried his luck from distance, only for Joe Day to make the save.
Next it was the turn of Ben Margetson to deny Jones as he cleared off the line from the winger after he had taken it round Joe Day and looked to find the back of the net.
