The Sky Blues Under-23s were pegged back late on against Colchester United at the JobServe Community Stadium last night.

City fell behind after just two minutes, whent the U's striker, Luke Norris fired the ball past Tom Billson from outside of the box.

However, the Sky Blues fought back and went close through Jordy Hiwula and Gervane Kastaneer who hit the woodwork within two minutes of each other.

Jodi Jones did eventually find an equaliser after he was on the end of a Hiwula through ball and he slotted the ball under the 'keeper.

The Sky Blues then took the lead for the first time in the game and after being denied by the woodwork earlier in the half, Kastaneer found the back of the net to make it 2-1.

But the lead didn't last long and the hosts were level before the break when Norris grabbed his second of the game from the spot.

After the half-time interval, City regained the lead and it was Jodi who restored the adavantage with his second, this time coming from distance with a shot which found the top corner.

The lead was doubled on 73 minutes when Jordy Hiwula took the ball round the U's 'keeper and slotted into the back of an empty net.

However, Colchester would capitalise on two mistakes at the back in the last 15 minutes as Michael Fernandes scored two to earn his side a point and snatch all three away from the Sky Blues.
