PUSB: 'From The Board' versus Rotherham United

26 February 2020

After each matchday programme this season, we publish the regular column from the Coventry City board on our website. Read Coventry City Chief Executive Dave Boddy's column from Tuesday's game against Rotherham below:

"Good evening and welcome to this mouth-watering re-arranged SkyBet League One clash with Rotherham United.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to everybody associated with Rotherham United Football Club – we hope that they enjoy their trip to St Andrew’s and have a safe journey home.

After our win at Rochdale on Saturday, which made it five straight wins in League One for us, today’s game sees top versus second and it is another in a series of matches we face here at St Andrew’s against fellow promotion contenders.

Having beaten Pompey a fortnight ago, we look forward to exciting games and challenges like tonight against our close rivals in the table: Sunderland our next home game, Wycombe Wanderers, Peterborough United and Oxford United - all of whom will be visiting us at St Andrew’s.

Let’s hope for an exciting end to the season.

At the back end of last week, we unveiled a new partnership for the Club with Dhillons Brewery, who are based in Coventry, not far from the Ricoh Arena. The beer is brewed in Coventry too.

The partnership saw us announcing our own Coventry City lager Sky Blue Army, which will be available at the official launch on Thursday 12th March at the Brewery.

This will be the first of several alcoholic drinks that we are looking to develop with the partnership and we are excited by some of the ideas that we have discussed already for the future that we are hoping to develop.

The lager is currently available to pre-order online, and you can see full details in the Club News section of today’s programme.

Whilst we are currently ‘exiled’ in Birmingham, but as always stated keen to get back to Coventry at the earliest opportunity, we are delighted to be working with another Coventry company.

Similarly, we have also recently announced our new partnership with David Lloyd Coventry. The new partnership sees the squad have use of the fantastic facilities available at the David Lloyd Coventry Club in Whitley, which further aids our post-match recovery and enhances the facilities that we can offer to our players.

On the theme of enhancing facilities, Mark Robins has touched on the fact that we are always looking to improve the facilities and environment that the players work in at Ryton. To this end, a new first-team dressing room area is being developed at Ryton which will be completed and formally announced very shortly.

As always, thank you for your support which is much appreciated by the Club and the players and management. Enjoy tonight’s game – PUSB.

Dave
