The Sky Blues welcome Stoke City to St Andrew’s on Boxing Day, in their final scheduled home fixture of 2020.
City are currently seven unbeaten at St Andrew’s heading into the weekend’s game, a run which stretches back to October.
The unbeaten run has coincided with the Sky Blues tightening up at the back, keeping four clean sheets out of the seven, bettering their earlier form when it came to conceding goals.
“I think we were playing really good football at the start of the season.” Robins said.
“We picked up some points, but not enough, and we were losing games by the odd goal and were conceding on average two goals a game.
“That’s changed around now that's been a fantastic part of the turnaround in terms of picking points up so hopefully we can continue that going into these next three games.”
City will come up against Michael O’Neill’s Stoke side who have had a little stumble in recent weeks, winning just one of their last four.
However, having played nine games in such a short space of time, Robins believes it counts for nothing when the two sides meet on Boxing Day.
“All the games are the same you know, and you look at what you can do but we have to just be ourselves and I'm trying to do as well as we possibly can do and try and improve all the time.
“Like I’ve said before, the nine games in the short space of time, having a week between games for us, this comes as a sort of welcome break.
“Stoke play tonight against Tottenham and I’m sure they’ll make changes; they’ve got a strong squad good depth and they don’t concede too many goals; certainly not in the Championship.
“It will be another another tough game and a game we can look forward too and try and bounce back from Sheffield Wednesday.”
