27 August 2020

Coventry City are delighted to announce the signing of Leo Ostigard on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Norwegian central defender joins the Sky Blues on loan until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Under 21 international Ostigard is a product of the Molde Academy, making his senior debut for the club in 2017.

In 2018 he made the move to Brighton and Hove Albion, appearing for the south coast side in the EFL Trophy during his first season.

He spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Bundesliga 2 side FC St Pauli in Germany, making 28 appearances.

Manager Mark Robins said:

"I'm deligthed to welcome Leo to the Club.

"He's a player with brilliant pedigree, he's one of the top players for his age in European football.

"Again it demonstrates the policy we've got at the Club - bringing in young players to help with their careers, help them develop and help us to achieve our objectives during a season.

"It's an exciting signing - he's a top young player and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Leo joins the Sky Blues with immediate effect and will link up with his new team mates this week at Ryton.
