NEWS: Championship Club Membership to go on sale on 1st September!

19 August 2020

Coventry City’s 'Championship Club Membership' for the 2020/21 campaign will go on sale on Tuesday 1st September at 9am.

Until supporters are allowed back in the stadium Season Tickets will only be available to fans who purchase a Championship Club Membership, which will also be available as a stand-alone Membership.

For Adult supporters buying a Championship Club Membership along with a Season Ticket, the price will be £260.

This comprises £210 for the Championship Club Adult Membership, with the Season Ticket element being valued at £50 – with the option of a £13 discount on this for fans who also had a 2019/20 Season Tickets (due to the Bury game cancellation).*

There will also be a 2-week priority purchase period until 15th September for fans who had a 2019/20 Season Ticket to purchase their Championship Club Membership.

Reduced prices of Membership and also Season Tickets will be available for Concessions, Young Sky Blues and Juniors, with full prices to follow.

Season Tickets will initially only be available to buy exclusively for fans who are Championship Club Members.

Full details regarding the Championship Club Membership and Season Tickets will be released shortly.

Championship Club Members will all receive a limited-edition replica shirt which will include the name of EVERY Championship Club Member on it!

This exclusive and high-value item will be a one-off, not available to purchase anywhere, and will be worn by Coventry City for one home league game during the 2020/21 season.

Other benefits will include free access to iFollow for any behind-closed-doors home league games.

Fans who purchase a Championship Club Membership and Season Ticket will get priority access when fans are allowed back into stadiums at a reduced capacity, with additional priority given if necessary to those Members who also had a Season Ticket during 2019/20.

Season Tickets will not currently be available to purchase separately to non-Championship Club members, until the situation regarding games behind closed doors is clear.

Championship Club Memberships and Season Tickets will be strictly non refundable for any games played behind closed doors.

The number of Championship Club Members will be capped at 3,500 – this is in line with the expected capacity limits of the Kop Stand and Tilton Road Stand when fans are hopefully able to return to stadiums. This allows us to accomodate all 19/20 Season Ticket holders to buy in their priority window if they wish to.

Due to the expected need for social distancing and fans needing to sit in their ‘bubbles’, fans will be guided to their seat for each game and will not be allocated their preferred seat (e.g. the seat they had last season) until further notice.

Season Ticket seats from the 2019/20 campaign will be held until we are able to return to 100% capacity, without the need for social distancing etc.

With hospitality lounges expected to be closed initially, there will be an update for Premium Membership holders shortly – however, these fans should purchase a Championship Club Membership and Season Ticket in line with other fans if they wish to attend games initially, once fans are allowed back into stadiums.

Coventry City Chief Executive Dave Boddy said:

“We’re pleased to let fans know the date that they will be able to purchase Championship Club Memberships, and in turn 2020/21 Season Tickets.

“As fans will see, we have worked hard to put together a unique package for this unique time to enable to make these available, as we know a lot of fans want to commit their support to the club and Mark Robins and the team at this time – which is fantastic of them.

“Card merchants are nervous about the situation in football regarding behind-closed-doors games and the like following the Coronavirus, and the possibility of seasons not being completed as last season. This is affecting the ability of many football clubs to make Season Tickets available in the normal way.

“This is why we have developed this one-off product for this season, to help us to resolve these issues.

“We have moved away from Cardnet for this and would like to thank Ticketmaster for their help in providing a solution to enable us to go ahead.

“We will be providing further information between now and 1st September when they go on sale, but hope today’s update helps supporters plan for this.”

* £260/£247 includes your Membership and Season Ticket for 20/21. There will be no additional Season Ticket cost for you on top of this.
