Following the completion of his loan move to the Sky Blues, defender Leo Ostigard revealed his delight at getting the deal over the line.

The centre-back joins on loan from Premier League side Brighton for the 2020/21 campaign and told what City supporters can expect from him this year.

“It feels good, it’s finally here and I’m happy to be here.” Leo said.

“It will be an interesting season for me and the team and I’m just looking forward to it and I’m happy to be here.

“I’m a player who wants to play and show what I’m here for and show my qualities, so I will hopefully show you some great things and hopefully help the team and that’s the most important thing. You never know in football and that is the best thing, so anything can happen this season.

“I like to defend first and foremost. I like to tackle and win duels and I also like to play good football, so I think you will like what you see, and I will do my best.

“I would say my biggest strength are my headers and I don’t think I will lose too many this season.”

Ostigard is looking to replicate the success he enjoyed during his loan-spell last season at St Pauli, with the Sky Blues.

Leo spent the 2019/20 campaign with the Bundesliga 2 side and became a fans favourite for his performances in the heart of defence.

“It was a really good loan for me at a fantastic club, who I will always have in my heart, I had a relationship with the fans and it was a really good year for me and I will miss them.

“I hope I can get the same thing here as what I was doing there, so I’m looking forward to it and I want to try and get a good year for me and the team.”

The 20-year-old joins the Sky Blues following the promotion back to the Championship, a division the Norway Under-21 international is relishing the opportunity to play in.

“It’s always been a dream to play in the Championship and to come here and play for a team who went up last season is good for me and you never know what will happen.

“I think we will see some great things from this team and we will run and fight to be in this league so I think it will be a good move for me and I hope it will go well.

“I hope I will have a great time and I’m really happy to be here, I’m just going to take it step by step and we will see what happens.”
