Job Title: Grounds Person
Department: Grounds Staff
Location: The Alan Higgs Centre/Ryton Training Ground
Reporting to: Head Grounds Person
Hours of work: 40 hours per week and must be prepared to work anti-social hours

Coventry City Football Club is looking to recruit a Grounds Person to work within the department to assist in the daily management and maintenance of the playing surfaces at the 1st Team Training Ground and Academy Training Ground Facilities as well as the surrounding landscapes.

Reporting to the Head Groundsperson, the successful candidate will work in a team of four staff and ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in grounds maintenance.

Experience of working in a professional football club or similar sports facility is preferred.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

KEY TASKS:

  • Operate pedestrian machinery
  • Operate ride on machinery
  • Operate tractor and trailer dependant on appropriate training
  • Line marking
  • Irrigation operations
  • Divoting
  • Strimming/Hedge Cutting
  • Fertiliser application
  • Aeration operations
  • Basic maintenance
  • General site maintenance
  • Frost sheet application

Person Specification:

  • Must adhere to the highest standards of health and safety in the course of the role
  • Willing to learn and ability to interact positively with colleagues
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexible
  • Willing to work as part of a team
  • Must be trustworthy and reliable.
  • A strong work ethic.

Candidates are required to hold a full Driving Licence

Due to the equipment used, only candidates over 18 will be considered.
