Amadou Bakayoko's late strike ensured the Sky Blues continued their unbeaten start to the 2019/20 League One season.
City had fallen a goal behind when Doncaster took the lead through their captain Ben Whiteman, just before the half-time break.
However, Mark Robins' side contiunued to push for an equaliser and eventually found their reward when substitute, Bakayoko popped up with the goal in the 89th minute.
