NEWS: Upcoming Strike on West Midlands Railway and London North Western rail services, which may affect Sky Blues fans

13 November 2019

Industrial action is due to take place on West Midlands Railway and London North Western rail services during November and December, which could affect home and away Sky Blues fans.

The strike will take place on the following dates:

• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 16th November
• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 23rd November
• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 30th November
• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 7th December
• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 14th December
• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 21st December
• 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Saturday 28th December

This is because of a dispute between West Midlands Railway and the National Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers Union over the role of the Guard.

To understand more about the strikes please visit West Midlands Railway website.

Please check this website for further updates as they become available.

Please be aware that Bordesley Train Station, near to St Andrew's, will not be served during this strike.

On an affected day:

  • There will be fewer trains running
  • Some stations will not be served
  • Some West Midlands Railway services will finish earlier than usual
  • There will be no replacement bus service

Due to this, Sky Blues fans are urged to plan their journeys in advance if travelling by train!
