NEWS: Jimmy Hill Legacy Fund application deadline this Friday!

28 November 2019

The deadline for applications to the Jimmy Hill Legacy Fund is this Friday!

The Jimmy Hill Legacy Fund is a fundraising initiative in order to provide opportunities to improve the quality of life for those who need it most, in memory of the late Jimmy Hill OBE, who passed away on 19th December 2015.

Jimmy Hill played a huge role during his time with Coventry City, a period which saw him take the positions of Manager, Managing Director and Chairman of the club driving the ‘Sky Blue Revolution’ in the 1960s and 1970s.

Jimmy Hill’s success had a massive impact on the city of Coventry and the Legacy Fund will provide a fitting tribute in his memory, supporting a number of causes that were close to his heart.

Money was awarded last year to Castle Wood School for new playground equipment, Coventry Sphinx Blue U15’s for new kit and Bulkington Cricket Club to train new coaches.

After fundraising by Sky Blue fans and the local community, a total of £5000 is available for groups and projects to apply for through the Legacy Fund– with a maximum grant of upto £1000 being given to any one group/project.

This is available to fund any community activity (e.g. Sports, art projects, music, dance, community days).

Along with this money, funds have also been allocated to provide activities for children and adults with disabilities and opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people in Coventry and Warwickshire, as well as a donation being made to the matchday Family Zone.
