The renovation of the pitches at Ryton Training Ground is well underway!
The machinery rolled onto the pitches on Friday morning, and soon the grass that had played host to the Sky Blues squad since last Summer was no more.
Both of the pitches and training area at Ryton are being renovated, and the first job was to lift up the old turf with the Koro Fieldtopmaker. (Main Photo and below)
On Day 2, further passes with Koro made sure that any last remenants of the pitches were swept up with a final clean up pass. (Photos below)
Also on Day 2, once the surface was clean, a top dressing to level the surface was then applied.

On Day 3, there were perfect dry conditions for drag matting the surface to level that top dressing put down yesterday. (Photo below)

Also on Day 3, the seed was drilled into the ground.
Then on Day 4, verti-draining of the pitches took place. Verti-Draining helps alleviate waterlogging and deep aerates the ground to promote healthy growth. (Photo below)
We'll have more about the Ryton pitch renovations later this month! Make sure you follow @CCFCGrounds on Twitter for updates too!
