The Sky Blues climbed into the top two of the Professional Development League South with a win against Nottingham Forest at the Alan Higgs Centre.
Goals from David Bremang, Trialist and Morgan Williams secured all three points for the Under 23s.
First chance of the game fell to the Sky Blues and it was Jonny Ngandu who worked the ball well with a one-two with Bremang, and he shifted it onto right but his effort went wide.
City almost found the breakthrough for a stroke of luck, when a ball in from Trialist almost caught Jordan Wright unaware, but he managed to get back and tip it over the bar.
Forest grew into the game and midway through the first half they had their first chance when they won the ball back in the City half and the ball was cut back for Yassine El-Neyah, but his shot is blocked by Declan Drysdale.
However, it was City that took the lead and it was David Bremang who broke the deadlock. The striker played a one two with Westbrooke and he found space in the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Both sides battled for possession during the remainder of the first half, but City were able to head into the break a goal to the good.
After the interval, the first opportunity came at the feet of Zain Westbrooke as he drilled a low shot towards the bottom corner, but his effort went inches past the post.
Although, five minutes later Forest rattled the bar when a half-volley from Kostas Megraitis came back off the bar and then on the rebound En-Neyah headed into the arms of Liam O’Brien.
City doubled their lead on 69 minutes and it was Trialist, who’s shot from distance took a deflection off a Forest man, wrong-footing the ‘keeper and finding the back of the net.
Dexter Walters, who came on at half time had City’s next chance, but his effort from inside the box was deflected for a corner.
From the resulting corner City made it three and it was Westbrooke’s ball in which was met by the head of the towering Morgan Williams who powered the ball into the top corner.
The Sky Blues almost made it four straight after the restart as Zain Westbrooke ran forward unchallenged and then rifled a shot off the cross bar from outside the box, in what would be the last action of the game.
