We are delighted to confirm the signing of Jamie Allen from Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder will join the Sky Blues from July 1st, agreeing a three-year-deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2022.

The 24-year-old started his career at Rochdale rising through the ranks at Spotland to become a first team regular under then manager, Keith Hill.

Allen was nominated for the League Two Apprentice of the Year in 2013, before going on to make his first team debut in October of the same year.

Jamie featured just under 150 times for Rochdale, before securing a move to the Championship with Burton Albion for £400,000.

The midfielder has since gone on to make 80 appearances for the Brewers, scoring nine goals over his two-year spell at the club.

Allen joins the Sky Blues with a vast amount of experience at 24-years-old, having made over 230 career appearances, scoring 20 goals.

Upon the confirmation of the signing, Sky Blues boss Mark Robins said:

“We’re delighted to be able to secure the signing of Jamie, someone that we’ve been looking at for a while.

“Jamie knows this division inside out and he will add experience in the centre of midfield alongside Liam Kelly and the talented youngsters we have here.

“He strengthens our options in midfield and we’re looking forward to working with him and seeing him in a Sky Blue shirt.”
