Sky Blues latest summer signing Jamie Allen, admitted he can’t wait to get started at Coventry City.
Jamie penned a three-year-deal with City earlier today, joining the club for an undisclosed fee from Burton Albion.
The centre-midfielder, who turned 24 at the start of the year, has made over 230 appearances to date, scoring 20 goals.
Reflecting on the move, Jamie told how the size of the club was a big pulling factor in making the move.
Jamie said: “The size of the club is massive and there has been interest over the summer and the more I’ve thought about it the more I wanted it to happen.
“The club in general is massive and they’re always competing to get into the play-offs and I want to try get back into the Championship.
“I can’t wait, I’m buzzing, I’ve been wanting to get back to it for ages now, I feel like I’ve had loads of time off and I just can’t wait to get back to playing football.”
Allen becomes the second player to make the move from the Brewers this season, with Kyle McFadzean joining earlier this year.
The 24-year-old is happy to have joined the Sky Blues and is sure Kyle will help him settle in at the club.
“Hopefully I can slot into the midfielder and I can help the team out as much as I can.
“I’ve spent two years with Kyle (McFadzean) at Burton and I know him well, so he will help make it an easier process to settle in.”
Allen scored eight goals last season, his best return to date in his career and he is hoping to better that again next season.
“I like to get on the ball and create chances for other people, but I also like to get into the box and score goals myself.
“I scored eight goals last season and I want to score more I want to better that and then help the team finish as high as possible in the table.”
