Sky Blues defender, Fankaty Dabo is confident in the ability of his new team-mates as he aims for promotion next season.
Dabo joined City this summer from Chelsea, having previously had spells on loan in Holland over the last two seasons.
The right-back has been getting to know his team-mates and coaches whilst settling in at Coventry City following his arrival and has seen first-hand the ability in the squad for the upcoming SkyBet League One campaign.
He said: “We have a goal and a plan and that’s what we want to execute.
“You can’t do that in pre-season friendlies, so we definitely want the season to get started and get some wins under our belt.
“I can tell we have a good squad and you can see the quality.
“Having been at Chelsea and knowing there are so many good players you are able to see quality and you can see it in the players that we have here.
“The aim for me is definitely promotion, no matter how we get it, that’s the sole aim and I’m confident that we are good enough.”
Dabo is one of ten new faces to come through the door at Coventry during the summer transfer window this season.
With there being a number of players to join the Sky Blues, the defender believes it has helped him settle and the team gel.
“It’s been good getting to know the boys, getting to know the Gaffer and seeing his way of working.
“Every club is different, it’s different people and a different way of working and you have to get used to the different players, coaches and facilities, but they’re all enjoyable so I can’t complain.
“We’ve gelled together quite quickly, and it feels like I’ve known them for years so in a way it’s better that there were so many new players and it wasn’t just me coming into a foreign land.
“It’s a competitive environment here and especially as a sportsman and a footballer you always want to compete and do the best you can.
“We have a goal and a plan and you can’t just sign for one year and if it doesn’t work and go somewhere else so I’ve committed to a good cause.”
