NEWS: Community Day crowd tops 20,000!

£5 per ticket in advance....

9 January 2019

Coventry City’s Community Day crowd has already topped 20,000 with just under a month still to go – and fans are urged to take advantage of the brilliant £5 ticket offer for the game!

The match takes place on Saturday 2nd February at the Ricoh Arena, when Coventry City face Gillingham in SkyBet League One (3pm KO).

Around 12,000 tickets have been donated to schools for FREE via Sky Blues in the Community, which will see the North Stand packed to the rafters with local school children and their families.

All tickets purchased in advance for the game will be priced at only £5 – with no age categories*, no price zones and no booking fees! Tickets purchased on the day will be £10.

The Ericsson Exhibition Hall will be open before the game as it hosts our Community Day Fans Village – with a range of activities lined up to keep everyone busy in the build up to the match, including the Family Zone.

Dave Boddy, Coventry City Chief Executive, said: “We’ve been delighted with the interest in our second Community Day game.

“Just over 12,000 tickets have been donated to schools in Coventry and Warwickshire for free via Sky Blues in the Community. This is a slight reduction compared to last year, as we reduced the number of tickets each child could get from 6 last year to 4 – this is so that there is less wastage of some free tickets, which was noted last year.

“That means so far we have over 20,000 fans in attendance – excluding away supporters.

“This leaves plenty of capacity for fans to take advantage of our great ticket offer for the game, where fans can get a ticket for just £5.

“The £5 price applies for adults, concessions and junior, and is a great chance for Sky Blues supporters to go to the Ricoh Arena and support Mark Robins and the side for a bargain price.

“We will shortly be announcing details of the wider activities taking place on Community Day and the Hospitality offer for the game, and hope that all supporters are looking forward to the big day.”

£5 Tickets are available in advance, and can be bought now in the following ways:

£10 Tickets will be available on the day of the game (subject to availability) from:

  • Matchday Ticket Office at the Ricoh Arena (open from 11am on matchday)
  • Cash Turnstiles (open at 1:30pm)
  • 0844 453 9134

 * JSB Under 13s will still be able to get their FREE ticket for the game when accompanied by a paying adult either in advance or on the day.

** All schools involved were contacted directly by Sky Blues in the Community..
