Two stars of the Nineties have confirmed their appearance at the 2019 Legends Day!
Striker Darren Huckerby and Midfielder Steve Froggatt have been added to the list of Former Players in attendance as the Sky Blues host the day, in association with the Former Players Association, for the home match against Oxford United on Saturday 23rd March (3pm KO) – with both making their first Legends Day appearances.
Fans can expect around 40 former players joining them on the day to enjoy three-course hospitality, with the CCFPA out in force again presenting the former players on the pitch at halftime when the Sky Blues face the U’s.
Huckerby joined the Sky Blues from Newcastle United in 1996, going on to make 97 appearances and score 28 goals for the club – including the unforgettable match winning solo strike against Manchester United in 1997 – before leaving in 1999.
Winger Froggatt made the move to Highfield Road from Wolves in 1998, and his form the Sky Blues led to a call-up to the England squad. However, after 57 games and 4 goals, Froggatt’s career came to a premature end in February 2000 at the age of 27 following a horror tackle in a game versus Sunderland. Despite attempting a comeback, he was eventually forced to retire through injury.
