9 February 2019

Saturday, February 9th 2019 would have marked the 61st birthday of England star Cyrille Regis.

The legendary West Brom striker, who also played for Coventry, Aston Villa, Wolves, Wycombe Wanderers and Chester, passed away unexpectedly in January 2018.

Over the last few months, his family have been preparing for the forthcoming launch of the Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust, which aims to provide a fitting and permanent tribute to the player.

Cyrille’s brother Dave Regis, former Stoke and Notts County footballer said: “We are pleased to announce that members of the Regis family have set up a charity to continue Cyrille’s legacy and impact in football and the community.

“The Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust will be launched with an exciting project in partnership with the foundations of six leading West Midlands clubs, West Bromwich Albion, Coventry, Aston Villa, Wolves, Birmingham and Walsall FC’s and will be a wonderful tribute to Cyrille and more importantly, influence the lives of local young people.

“We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks. Watch this space.”
