The Sky Blues suffered late hear break when Shrewsbury snatched all three points in injury time this past weekend.
City had taken the lead midway through the first half when Jordan Shipley headed home his fifth goal of the season after getting on the end of a Jamie Allen cross.
However, Scott Golbourne equalised for the hosts midway through the second half after a corner wasn't cleared and fell to the defender at the back post.
With the Sky Blues looking for a winner, a foul on Callum O'Hare which wasn't penalised enabled the Shrews to counter and Shaun Whalley found the back of the net.
