The Sky Blues ended the nine-day trilogy of games with Ipswich Town with victory in their FA Cup third round replay at Portman Road.
City controlled the game from the off and took the lead when Jordan Shipley was on the end of Max Biamou's through ball after some good work from Jamie Allen.
The second came and it was them three involved again, this time Allen spotting the run of Shipley and he cut the ball back for Biamou to tap home.
The hosts got one back through Luke Garbutt late on, but it would prove to be nothing more than a consolation goal, as City progress into the next round of the FA Cup.
