COMMUNITY: SBitC Christmas Auction a success for Jimmy Hill Legacy Fund and Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice

18 December 2019

Looking for the perfect Christmas present can sometimes be like looking for a needle in a haystack. However, if you were lucky enough to join the Sky Blues in the Community Facebook Auction group last month you will have seen all the amazing gifts and experiences that donated by CCFC for a second year running, to raise money for two great causes.

The Auction ran through the month of November and raised over £3000! The reason this Christmas Auction was so special is because all of the money raised is being split between two extremely worthwhile organisations, Jimmy Hill Legacy Fund and Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice.

In just the first 24 hours of our Auction being open it had already hit an amazing £2,300 for our two chosen charities!

The Jimmy Hill Legacy Fund is a fundraising initiative in order to provide opportunities to improve the quality of life for those who need it most, in memory of the late Jimmy Hill OBE, who passed away on 19th December 2015. Our annual Jimmy Hill Day takes place against Lincoln City on 21st December.

Zoë’s Place Trust is a registered Charity providing palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. The staff at Zoë’s Place provide care and support 24hrs a day for both the child and family.

If you missed our 2nd Anniversary Christmas Auction this year, then some of the lots included:

  • Signed CCFC manager Mark Robins shirt
  • CCFC third kit 2 tone shirt signed by the first team squad
  • Mascot place for CCFC game
  • Signed Matt Gooden boots
  • Signed Marco Marosi GK gloves
  • Private Box experience for CCFC VS Lincoln City
  • Plus many more...

Dave Busst, Head of Community said: “We would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who got involved, whether that be liking or sharing our posts, bidding on lots, raising the profile of our Auction or just generally supporting these two fantastic causes. The amount of money we have raised is truly remarkable and will no doubt make such an incredible difference thanks to the generosity of all of you”.
