REPORT: Burnley U23 1-1 Sky Blues U23

20 August 2019

The Sky Blues Under 23s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Burnley on Monday afternoon.

Morgan Williams, who extended his contract with the Sky Blues last week, completed a full game as he comes back from injury.

Max Biamou continued his return from injury with a full 90 minutes, and a well taken goal after 15 minutes which gave City the early lead at Turf Moor.

A long ball over the top from left-back Junior Brown got Biamou in behind the Burnley defence and Frenchman lifted the ball over the Northern Ireland international Peacock-Farrell in the Clarets goal.

Burnley, who included Premier League winner Danny Drinkwater, equalised in the second-half to give them a share of the points. Anthony Glennon created the opening with a superb diagonal ball wide to Olatunde Bayode and winger cut inside and hit a fierce, angled shot into the top corner and past Billson in the Sky Blues goal.
