NEWS: Coventry City thanks fans following first game at St Andrew's

5 August 2019

Coventry City would like to thank all of the supporters who attended Saturday’s opening day game against Southend United, our first game at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium.

To have an attendance of 5,500 CCFC fans for our first game was excellent, and goes once again to show the great support of Sky Blues supporters for their Club and Mark Robins’ team.

While not where we would want to be playing, we would like to thank Birmingham City and all of their staff for their warm welcome and accommodating us and CCFC fans so well.

The overall feedback from Sky Blues fans has been positive and there was an excellent atmosphere on the day in the stands.

We are pleased that fans had a good day – which was of course helped by three points – from arrival/travel, to the experience in lounges and atmosphere around the ground, and exiting the stadium to name a few areas.

At the same time, we have received comments about areas such as Season Ticket locations, time to pay at turnstiles and food/drink kiosks. We will be working, alongside colleagues at Birmingham City, to address these teething problems in time for our next game at St Andrew’s – we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.

These issues are to be expected at a first game at a stadium, and we look forward to improving the matchday experience further for our supporters who are at St Andrew’s.

We are in dialogue with Birmingham City regarding issues around Season Ticket locations, and hope to provide an update to fans on this in the next couple of days.

Separately, we are aware of an issue with the iFollow service on Saturday afternoon for overseas supporters. This is an EFL service and a technical cabling issue with the EFL outside of Coventry City’s control, and not at St Andrew's, and we will be working with them to make sure that this is addressed for our next fixture. Supporters who purchased a match pass internationally will be reimbursed for their purchase. Domestic supporters purchasing an audio pass were unaffected.
