INTERVIEW: “We’re Working Hard To Instil A Way Of Playing"

Mark Robins looks ahead to this weekend's trip to Oxford...

Sky Blues Boss Mark Robins is enjoying watch his side at the moment and is confident that the goals will start to come.

City have had the second highest number of attempts on goal in League One this season but haven’t found the back of the net on a regular basis.

However, Robins is pleased with the chances his side are creating and said he would be more concerned if those chances weren’t being created.

He said: “I’m pleased with a lot of aspects of our play.

“Clearly we didn’t take any chances last week, but we created them and I think we just need to create better clear cut chances.

“We had a similar start last season, but as long as you create chances and the players continue to get into those positions to score they will take them eventually, so I’m fairly relaxed on that front.

“I’m enjoying watching us play and that is the big thing and the key thing and the next thing to do is to turn them into points.”

It will be the Sky Blues second trip to the Kassam Stadium in the space of four weeks, following their Carabao Cup First Round defeat.

However, it’s a new game with three points on the line this time round and that’s the way Mark Robins is looking at it heading into the clash.

“It’s a great game to be involved in, it’s a game on Sky against near neighbours and they’re a good team and it’s a big game for everyone and one to look forward to.

“It’s a different game and different scenario.

“There’s three points at stake and we want the three points and we need to start picking them up and I know that but we have to maintain what we do and the direction of travel.

“We’re working hard to instil a way of playing that people enjoy watching and playing and we have to make sure we are relaxed to go out and continue playing in the same vain.

“We’re playing good stuff and creating chances, I think I would be more worried if we wasn’t creating chances, but we have to keep going in the same vain.”
