INTERVIEW: "We’re Just Looking To Carry On Where We Left Off"

Midfielder looking forward to Bristol Rovers clash...

Sky Blues midfielder Tom Bayliss is hoping to pick up recent league form and make it three wins from three this weekend.

City travel to the Memorial Stadium to face Bristol Rovers in League One action on the back of wins against Oxford United and Barnsley.

After a start to the season which saw only one win in the opening six league games, Tom is confident that City are now getting the points their performances have deserved.

He said: “It’s been a slower start this season results wise, but the performances have always been there this season.

“There has only been a few where we haven’t really done ourselves justice, but the results are coming now, we’ve won the last two and hopefully we can make it three at the weekend.

“It is going to be a tough game, they’ve got two types of playstyle, they can go direct, and they can also pass the ball.

“It has been a slow start to the season for them I’d say and we’re just looking to carry on where we left off against Barnsley last Saturday and hopefully get the three points.”

Tom started his season earlier then the rest of the City side, linking up with England Under-19s back in July.

Since his return, the midfielder has put pen to paper on a new deal with the Sky Blues, signing a new four-year deal.

Bayliss admitted that he didn’t feel it was his time to move on and he was happy to commit his future to Coventry City.

He said: “It’s been a brilliant nine months for me and just have to thank everyone at the club for giving me this opportunity and express myself on a bigger stage and I feel like I’ve taken it with both hands and I’m really enjoying it.

“I didn’t feel like it was my time to move on and I feel like I’ve got a lot of development to do and feel like I can help the club get to where it wants to be.

“The fans are brilliant they’ve supported me all the way through and signing a new contract is just like reward for myself and them and the club and just buzzing to kick on.”
