Coventry City star Jodi Jones has launched the official kit for the GEFCO UK team who are cycling from Coventry to Paris to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
The 20-year-old winger was the star guest at the GEFCO UK Prologis Park headquarters on Saturday to offer his support as the team prepares to set off at 9am on Friday, 7th September 2018.
“We are extremely grateful to Jodi Jones and Coventry City FC for supporting our brave cycling team as they make their final prepartions for the 300-mile challenge,” said Helen Grover, Director of Human Resources, GEFCO UK.
“Corporate social responsibility and employee wellbeing is very important to us at GEFCO, and we are supporting the team in every way possible.”
The group of 50 cyclists has so far raised GBP25,000 for BBC Children in Need, which helps disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
The cyclists will be setting off from Coventry’s Prologis Park GEFCO UK headquarters on 7th September 2018 at 9am, with a press call from 8.30am with former England rugby star, Tim Stimpson, and BBC Children in Need’s Pudsy.
After leaving Coventry, the team will head south and will make their first stop at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
On 8th September they will cycle from Reading to Newhaven with a pit stop at Chris Evans’ pub The Mulberry Inn in Surrey, and they will make the ferry crossing on 9th September before arriving at the GEFCO Courbevoie facility in France on 10th September.
The cyclists will be documenting their preparations and the actual event on social media channels which can be followed with the hashtag, #GEFCOC2P.
