Coventry City are pleased to confirm that we have agreed to sign midfielder Jack Burroughs upon the expiry of his scholarship.
Burroughs will sign his first professional contract with the club and has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Sky Blues.
The midfielder made his debut for the club recently in the Checkatrade Trophy match against Forest Green Rovers, coming on for Jak Hickman.
Jack has been with Coventry City for over ten years, joining the youth set-up when he was just seven years of age.
Coventry City Academy Manager, Rich Stevens had this to say:
“I remember when Jack joined the club aged 7 and now to see the joy on his and his family’s face was a wonderful moment.
“I’m really proud to have seen him grown up and now I look forward to watching him take the next step in his career and he is in the right place to do that.”
Sky Blues Under-23s assistant coach, Luke Tisdale, who has worked with Jack during his development had this to say:
“I’m delighted for Jack.
“He was in my under-12 side when I joined the club and he has always been 100% committed and I know this will mean a lot to him, being a Coventry City fan.
“Jack is a powerful athlete and a versatile midfielder with a great personality and I look forward to working with him in his next phase of development.”
Jack will now continue his scholarship with Academy, before linking-up with the Sky Blues for the start of the 2019/20 season.
