The Sky Blues Under-23s suffered defeat against Watford 23s last Friday afternoon at the Harry Abrahams stadium.
City handed some valuable minutes to the likes of Jodan Ponticelli and Tony Andreu, who both continuie their return to fitness.
The Sky Blues fell a goal down midway through the first half after former City man, Michael Folivi was brought down in the box.
The referee pointed to the spot and it was Folivi who stepped up to take the spotkick and he found the bottom corner to make it 1-0.
Just before half-time and the lead was doubled as a corner for the Hornets was flicked on by Harry Forster and fell in the path of Ryan Cassidy who found the back of the net.
After the break and it was the perfect start for Jason Farndon's side, as they pulled a goal back in the 51st minute.
It was 17 year-old, Jack Burroughs who was on hand to find the corner from inside the box and halve the defecit.
However, with City looking to find an equaliser, they were dealt a blow in the 90th minute, as Dan Phillips put the game out of reach, as he found the top corner to make it 3-1 to the hosts.
