On-loan winger Luke Thomas was left disappointed after the Sky Blues drew 1-1 with Peterborough United.
The 19-year-old was frustrated in his end product and believed that he should’ve scored to help win the game.
“I should’ve put us 1-0 up at the start of the second half.
“If I’d got that first goal I think we would’ve gone onto win that game.
“I’ve had a lot of chances and the lads are getting on me as I should be on at least 10 goals by now.
“I’m hoping when I get one or two in a row they’ll start flowing but, in the end, we showed great character to come from behind.
“Football is a 90-minute game so you don’t stop until the final whistle.”
Thomas further expressed his desire to continuously improve and specified that he has been working hard in training, particularly on his shooting.
“I work on finishing most days, but maybe I need to do a lot more behind closed doors.
“It’s a strange one as I feel so confident on the pitch.
“The way I play my game I need to be confident to get at the full backs, I just need to get a good connection on the ball.”
At the conclusion of the interview, Thomas expressed the enjoyment he is having whilst playing for the Sky Blues.
“I feel like I need to go out and get games, it’s not possible at Derby at the minute with the players that they’ve got there.
“I’m only 19 and coming to a big club like Coventry has helped me massively.
“I’m enjoying playing week in week out at the minute and I’ll just let Derby and Coventry discuss what happens in January.
“The lads here are brilliant they’ve made me feel so welcome ever since I first came in, I couldn’t ask for anything better from the players and the management team.”
