Coventry City have completed the transfer of Zain Westbrooke from Brentford on a free transfer.
The 21-year-old joined the Sky Blues as of Tuesday 7th May, but will not be eligible for any games during the 2017/18 season.
Westbrooke has agreed a two year deal with the Sky Blues until June 2020, with a one year extension option in the club’s favour.
The central midfielder impressed on trial with the Sky Blues, playing twice for the Under 23s in April. Westbrooke joins the Sky Blues following the early transfer of his registration from Brentford, which was due to expire at the end of June.
Manager Mark Robins said: “Zain is central midfielder with a good range of passing, who will add to the quality we have in this area of the pitch.
“He impressed me and the coaching staff at the club with his performances and attitude while on trial, which earned him this contract.
“Zain will begin training with the squad immediately, and we look forward to him continuing his development with us.”
