NEWS: Coventry City to wear one-off special shirt for the Play-Off Final

21 May 2018

Coventry City will be wearing a one-off special shirt for the League Two Play-Off Final against Exeter City.

The Sky Blues will face the Grecians on Monday, 28th May at Wembley Stadium, going head-to-head for promotion to League One.

The Sky Blues have exhausted their supply of the home kit for the 2017/18 season and therefore, due to those exceptional circumstances, will wear a one-off kit for this game.

The 2017/18 home kit also proved very popular with supporters, which has meant that stock has also sold out in the club shop ahead of the Final. The introduction of a special, one-off limited edition shirt will mean that fans will be able to buy a replica CCFC shirt ahead of the big game.

Dave Boddy, Coventry City Chief Executive, said: “With our existing supply exhausted, we have commissioned a special, limited edition one-off shirt for the Play-Off Final.

“The striped kit is one with much history, especially at Wembley, for the Sky Blues.

“We hope it will be very popular with supporters, who will be able to buy the shirt now online at ccfc.clubstore.co.uk.

“This will not be the kit for the 2018/19 season, so we hope it will be a very unique shirt for the club and fans.”

The shirt is expected to be in stock in store on Wednesday, but Sky Blues fans have the opportunity to pre-order online by clicking here

Further Information:

The shirts for this season were ordered in February 2017, as is the case at many clubs ordering in bulk. Due to the incredible popularity of the home shirt this season, and use of club stock through playing requirements and charitable donations, it has been necessary to commission this new traditional striped shirt for the Play-Off final – which we hope will prove popular with supporters.

We were unable to order the current 2017/18 home shirt due to the large minimum order numbers which exist, and the lead times involved.
